The Rightly So - Band Portraits - UW Arboretum

The Rightly So comprise of Greg + Jess, a pair of fantastic Americana folk musicians from Buffalo, NY. I was honored to photograph when their tour brought them here to Seattle.

These two are basically living the American dream. They travel around the country together in their huge white van they’ve affectionately dubbed “The Beast”. They play 100+ shows each year, managing & booking all their own tour. Jess is the singer & songwriter while Greg plays guitar. They are a super kind, fun & interesting couple.

I thought a natural background near the forest would be great for their session setting, so I suggested the UW Arboretum. It worked perfectly for their musical and personal style. This was my first time doing promotional band portraits, so there was a bit of a learning curve for me, but I had a lot of fun working with them!

They’re headed back home this summer to finish their next album. So glad to have met you two and hope to catch a show next time you are in town!

Kaity

Had a great time collaborating on a 1970s themed glamour shoot with model Kaity Tainer & makeup artist Cat Refuerzo!

These ladies had never been to the main library in downtown Seattle so I knew we had to shoot there, as it's super aesthetically lovely & also went great with our 70s high fashion theme. Absolutely love it there. In college I used to spend hours walking around and browsing the seemingly endless stories of literature. Cat created a bold sapphire blue smokey eye with a hint of warmth that went super well with Kaity's beautiful blue eyes. We switched up the nude lip to a dark magenta to fit better with the red room. I loved the clothes Kaity brought, she told me her bodysuit in the second part of the shoot was actually her mom's from back in the day! Gotta love cool moms.

My goal is to keep doing more stylized, collaborative beauty work in the new year.

So excited to keep growing my skills and my circle of creative friends!

Anya - SMG Models, Seattle

I had the pleasure of working on a fantastic boudoir collaboration with my friends Anya & Brett, whom I met dancing Zouk with my boyfriend Rob. Anya modeled while Brett shot video & I took stills. Anya is a fantastic model, she did her own hair & makeup as well. I appreciate Brett's help in coordinating and offering ideas. The AirBNB we rented was beyond perfect for the 1970s vibe we wanted.

I'm so in love with the images and am excited to keep doing more collaborative/themed work.

I'm posting cropped versions of the originals for modesty purposes.
